Hi, I’m jane dolan

Raised in a perpetually cluttered home, I never inherited the knack for organization. No one could teach me how to organize, especially my parents. My childhood home was so chaotic that inviting friends over seemed unthinkable. Desperate for a semblance of order, I would carve out small havens for sanity. But I lacked the necessary tools to maintain organization.

During my childhood, I held the belief that adulthood would bring about a state of order. The pursuit of understanding the intricacies of organization has been a defining aspect of my life. What distinguishes those who are organized from those caught in chaos? It's a puzzle I am determined to solve. My goal is to ease clients from the pervasive shame associated with disorganization.

I started my business in 2012, helping desperate friends dig out of their chaos. Five years into my professional organizing journey, Marie Kondo hit the U.S. by storm. After an overnight immersion in her book, I was hooked! Marie Kondo offered a guide for permanent solutions to the organizing puzzle. I had to wait a couple of years for Marie Kondo to put together a method to teach her system.

Through countless hours of tidying and refining my expertise, I created The Jane Method. It's a fusion of the KonMari Method® and classical organizing techniques. As much as I would love to only use the KonMari Method, it's not practical for many. Whatever method is going to get you the results you crave, I use.

The most common question I receive is, "Is this the worst case you've ever seen?" The response is a resounding "No." I've seen it all over the years, understanding that each soul carries its load. Whether laid bare to the world or kept hidden is a different tale.

No matter where you are in your organizational journey, I'm here to help you reclaim both your space and your life.

The KonMari Method® is a unique and holistic organizational approach developed by Japanese tidying expert Marie Kondo. In her best-selling book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" she explains how people can declutter their homes and create spaces that spark joy and promote a sense of well-being. The KonMari Method® is based on several key principles: tidying by category, sparking joy, gratitude, visualization, discarding first and organizing second, folding and storage techniques, and finally, creating a power spot. This transformation has worked for thousands of people, and it will for you too.
